the 3.9's making some blowby so im taking off the turbo. It was fun while it lasted lol. Im thinking about trading it in on a newer or better car, but ill make sure to get my lpg gear out first.
Sad day today for me hearing my car like it is. poor old ea. |

i gave it a good time, what do you think i should replace it with? if i keep to a e series bloodline i can maybe bolt my 3.9 killer on it. but i think i should get somethingim not likely to do up as much.

id like to put another engine in it, but id just kill it too over time. Its time i stopped modifying my daily driver i think.
and it needs more than a engine, also clutch uni's diff new interior. Whole cars covered in dings and got rust in bits. U can see why i dont want to spend any more on it. I was happy when it didnt have blowby, it was a great sleeper. Surprised only 1 gen3, a 255 clubby. |

Dam sorry to hear. That car was the quickest e-series club car for a long time to at 14.6sec.
You need another e-series ef-el 5speed, with the turbo would be sweet as! |

Sorry to hear that Matt, the engine certainly did cop a bit of punishment.
If you give up on the idea I might be interested in the manifold. |

was 15+psi too john lol.
It still goes, i just started it at work today and it was missing a little bit, when i got home it had blown the back rockercover pipe off and had alot more blowby coming out like puff puff puff when i gave it a rev. So i though id try and keep it going till i trade it in on something. it had a faily hard life before the turbo anyway, and rich gas mixtures can be bad too. I might have a small hole in a piston or something? |

MMMMmmm.
Dont see how you can go without boost now you've had it. What about an ex-taxi (AU's are cheap!) If and EA engine can be had for $500 or so cant you just bolt in and go again? oh, and perhaps wind the boost down to less than 10 psi. |

it will stil be a dodgy ea with leaks and groans, nah its time is over. It went from 17.1 i think to 14.6@92 and then i boosted it to death .

Buy an ex taxi EL (I was being offered them for $1K with blue slip) boost it, kill it. then put another engine in it.

See if you can find another EA/EB thats been looked after. Should cost you SFA I reckon. Plenty of really good examples go to the wreckers every day.
I reckon you could pick one up for the same money as a new EA motor. http://www.carsales.com.au/pls/carsa...ch_distance=25 Check it. Thats after 2 seconds of looking. Tell him you'll give him $500 max, bolt all your gear up and go again! I reckon the overboost wouldn't have helped matters with your motor. As long as you don't get greedy with boost and don't let it lean out you should be able to make it last. - John Last edited by TUFED6; 17-06-2005 at 07:12 PM. |

That EB 5 speed with the AU engine that was for sale a little while ago would have been perfect!
I'd rather an EF/EL 5 speed still though. |
