Default My Shed Leaks I think

Well, I have come to the end of my teather with the 1521a+stock ECU+auto combination. Went down to the shed to grab the stock EL cam, and look what was found.

Neadless to say it was wraped up, in a post it pack and under some other goodies away from the elements, then i looked up, Little crack in the roof. So, the recent rains have ruined my stock cam and any quick attempt to get some civility back into my car. Oh the leak also ruined a cylinder head, EL rocker gear, ED manafold, BBM manafold and a verneer gear.

What a perfect end to a perfect week. (why doesnt sarcasum work online).

Yeah the manafolds are reusable, the head has lots of rust on the cam bearings etc

Damn that's bad luck, I'm sure someone will be able to help out with a stock cam replacement.

Nah the shed has a paved base, its not where the photo was taken. It was genuine rain, everything within 1m of this hole is SATURATED.

I've got a stock EB 4.0 cam if you want :P

Could be rusted out though, it's been in the shed for months and I haven't looked at it.

7 Months.

regarding cams, i can get my hands on an EB2 cam, however id rather not drop to 148kw down from a current 200ish, dropping to 157 will be bad enough. I think i may actualy look at getting another wade grind 1004/114 or 1634, or even *gulp* a DEv3HL...

go with a 1004@112/114, you would allmost make the same amount of power that you have now, i made 141wkw with a 112 in my ea.

Yeah i have no idea how much power i made with my 1004/110, but it managed to run a 15.4, and the best my 1521a has run was 15.7.

Im thinking of going the 977b, if it will idle, otherwise ill go a 1004/114.

A bit off topic, has anyone gone from a 1004 to one of wades new cams 1604/1634?

Im going to attack the cam tomorrow. If it cleans up ok and no surface damage has occoured, i may drop it in. Problem is the surface is hardened, if the rust has damaged the hardening then the cam is junk.

I bet it will clean up ok, they will tolerate some mild surface rust, as the surface is not as critical as flat tappet cams.
