EL XR6 ABS & AIRBAGS warning lights...how to reset it?

Hi guys...just wondeirng if anyone here knows how to reset the abs box so the warning light on an el xr6 manual switches off and how to reset the air bag warninglight aswell on the el xr6...we recently changed the rotors on the car...the rotors are abs ones.... the airbag had to be removed to pull off the dash so therefore the airbag warning light has also come up....anyone who can help fix this up...please post.... THANKS

as far as im aware, the only person who can reset this is Ford. Or there are mobile businesses such as Code Clear who come out and clear it for you for around $100, which im pretty sure is more expensive than ford, but i could be wrong.

Any decent workshop should be equipped with a scan tool and should be able to clear it for you for a lot less than $100, but if it comes back and you want them to diagnose the problem, it could easily go over $100

There must be a problem with the ABS still, the light shouldn't come up just because you have changed your rotors, and the ABS light usually clears itself once the fault is fixed.

Airbag had to be removed to take off the dash? I'm assuming you mean passenger one, if so can I ask why the dash was removed? Last time i checked you dont need to take it out to put new rotors on.

if you turned the key on while the airbag was disconnected, that could cause a code to be stored in the computer, but even a low battery voltage can come up as a trouble code which shows from the airbag light, still need a scan tool to clear them even if the problem has been rectified

I'll second what Aaron said, there must still be a fault with the ABS. Once faults are rectified the Check ABS light resets itself.
The Airbag light will need to be reset by Ford or someone with a scanner.

you can reset the airbag light yourself.
all uyou need to do is ground one of the pins on the diagnostic plug!
