I am attempting to remove the pinstripes on my NC. The pinstripes come off pretty easily just by scraping them with my fingernails, but am wondering whats the best way of removing the glue left behind? soap and water isnt really doing much.
Cheers. |

prepsol or some of that Goo Remover you get from the supermarket, then just put some wax and polish back into the paint when you are done

ohh and you'll find once you soften the glue with prepsol or goo remover a laminated video card or credit card works as a good scraper, it will lift off the gunk but wont scratch your paint

A bit of warm air from a hot air gun will make it easy to get the pinstripes off, and the brush a bit of turps onto the residue. After a couple of minutes, it will have turned into a gel which can be scraped off with a bit of flexible plastic (say cut from an ice cream container). A rag with turps will then clean off the little bits left over. A polish and your done.
Beleive it or not, but WD40 will also work a treat |

be careful with the hot air guns, you leave the heat there for even half a second too long and it will lift the paint

NC Steve, have a grilfriend, wife, sister or Mother? Nail polish remover should be ok. Ethyl Acetate is the active ingredient and it will remove lots of nasty stuff. Check it by putting a little bit on a bit of paint that cant be seen? Its good for overspray too on glass and Plastic
