A friend was told to fit hotter sparkplugs to his ED Fairlane (6cyl) to assist in overcoming blowback/backfire, sounds crazy, anyone?

In LPG setups, you are actually supposed to run 'colder' plugs, due to the high combustion temperatures. the temperature of a plug refers to the plugs ability to dissapate heat into the head, so a 'colder' plug will dissapate more heat and therefore be 'colder'
