Default Rocker cover threaded hole?

I live in NZ and i've got a stock 1990 Ltd. It has the 3.9 with Multi-point injection and i'm just wondering about the hole in the top of the rocker cover. This whole is where the air-cleaner bolts on on the CFI models, but there is no bolt in my MPFI cover. Every MPFI engine I have looked at has this same problem, which is odd because at high revs oil ****es out of it. Is there was any reason why this threaded hole has been left open?

Thumbs up

Thanks alot guys!
I never actually looked to see if others went right through, I just assumed they were the same. I'll try to get the bolt off a CFI model and use that to seal it up.
