I think they're about $35. FTG Autosalvage sell genuine EL GT and AU XR8 intake snorkels for around this price.

Depending on what ford dealer you go to, they range from around $25, up to $32. Thats for a AU III XR8 Snorkel

probably an extra $5-6 bucks of work.
Seriously, you're probably better off getting an EL XR8/GT/AU Tickford snorkel and sticking with a panel filter (say, your existing one?) My $10 paper one is doing fine, 25,000kms down the dusty track. The vacuum resusitates it to give it new life ;) |

I've boxed my pod in my EF without buying any extra hosing or anything.

Would an XR8 snorkel fit an AU 6 cyl fairmont? Cos thats the only thing the ford parts dealer could come up with out of his catalogue.... he sounded pretty confused...

The intake size is double the size of a normal snorkel, so = more air intake.
