the otherway to tell would be by the compliance plate... under engine it will have a code "T" for sprint..
Xr8's are a code "Z"

Galaxy XR8.
Nope. No sprint markings apart from the Engine code. Fordy, The main give aways are the engine code, the bumper should have black rubbers in it (unless it has been painted..), should have eye lids on the front leading edge of the guard. If you are real keen, the stearing rack has a tag on it saying XR8 Sprint. The ECU behind the left kick panel has Sprint hand written on it. The diff mounts for the top trailing arms are bolted in a different spot (the std holes are still there but empty). Just fire away any questions. (I collectedmost of the info in the link above) How much are ya looking to spend? There are a few around here (the forum) for sale. (Noosacuda etc) Hope this helps.. |

The sprint body kit was an option. I have not seen any dud / mock up sprints aroud as the parts / badges are too hard to come by..
The injectors should be blue etc, etc.. Mine has the body kit.. Front skirt, side and rears.. The Front skirt on mine is not original but the rest is.. Must get around to changing it. As for options. All options available on the std XR6 / XR8 were available on the sprint. Trip computer, Elec windows, Sunroof, tow bar, curise control, etc.. It should have a alloy spare wheel. I would not buy one unless it had the original wheels as they are getting hard to find... |

Ok just went to have a look at one, it has an aftermarket kit on it, that is identical to the Ford one, full exhaust and the motor has been freshened up, but owner is unsure when, it has 200k and looks as if the whole car has been resprayed, but it looks sweet and drove nice. Also has full pedders suspension, and pioneer deck but he doesnt have the original deck, he also tore those eyelid thingy things off but still has them...
he wants 16300, i didnt make an offer as i want to look at a few more...oh its greeen and auto... what do ya reckon?? |

Fordy, I tend to agree with SVO347.
200,00Ks plus auto may not be worth $16,300. But then agian, you are a bit limited with choice being in the west.. Have the guards been liped? Is the car advertised anywhere (ie pics etc) I got my manual 12 months ago for $13k with 166,000ks on it.. (Green) |

Ok went to have a look at another one today, a bit rough, roof was faded on one side, but was untouched even had the original sprint spare wheel with original tyre and had 147k on the clock and wanted 15k.....
This one didnt have a trip computer whereas the other one did...after reading those other threads there doesnt seem to be any conclusion to whether it was an option or not?? |

Nope pass on that mate
Just as a question... Your doing up an XT right, why would you want a fuel guzzling V8 when theres alot of good sixes out there namely el's au's etc...Fuel is pricey nowdays... for a daily you cant go past a EB EL fairmont ghia.. Creature comforts
