I had a crack at the search function but didnt come up with anything. What i wanted to know is, i removed the plastic cover for the cassete player and the player itself is held in by two golden coloured screws with a weird screw pattern on the top. I guess everyones had the same problem upgrading to a cd player, so can anyone tell me where i can get the tool to undo the bastards?

Those screws are called TORX screws. T25 torx bit IIRC. These are available in a set from dicksmith, autobarn, bunnings, Mitre 10, etc.

Those screws also serve a purpose as it makes the little bugger who is trying to flog your stereo work a little harder to get it.

when you install the cd player or whatever, the screws that hold your door trim to the inside of the door, will fit the thread of the torx screw

You will need to attach the Torx tool to a cordless drill, because as Mich mentioned they are in very tight. I tried the plyers trick and that didn't work either. I picked up a set of 24 Torx for $9.99 at Dick Smith.
