Default Suspension Price Check

Hi guys,

Just wanted to compare what people have paid for their EF suspension systems. My car is going in for new suspension after easter and I just wanted to confirm that i'm not getting reamed too much. The package includes the following:

- Koni Yellow shocks (rebound adjustable)
- Reset my current sportsryder springs (5mm lower in the front, 20mm lower in the back, both springs are linear rate) Not too sure what reseting involves as yet but its not cutting..
- 30mm Whiteline front sway bar
- New bushes all round

Total cost including alignment, labour etc etc is $2K even (bear in mind the struts alone are $1,200). I understand that its relatively easy to fit struts/springs but i can't be bothered doing it myself and like most EF/ELs its chewing the front tyres so i want a decent workshop to go over it and rectify any problems.

Cheers,
Anth

Sounds like a pretty reasonable price chich, the bush kit is around $500 as well.

They said they'll change the upper cambers bushes, lower/inner pivots and watts link bushes... is this all there is? Havn't had a chance to check the workshop manual as yet.

I got quoted $2200 for new pedders/koni shocks, some bushes in the front and upper rear trailing arms. inc labour and that comes with a new steering rack.
fitted by Pedders. (ill only get pro's to fit stuff now, otherewise it costs you later down the track)
hmmm this car game is expensive.

I suppose it costs you when you fix something yourself and then have to go back and get the pros to fix it again. There's only so much you can do yourself with limited tools and facilities..

I went on tour with my band for 3 weeks and when I came back I had new King Springs, Monroe Shocks and Nolathane bush's through 90% of the car. It wasn’t a professional suspension shop who did it. They are great with mechanical but not suspension. So 8 months later I’m faced with another 2k bill to get what I wanted the first time.

I’m happy to pay the coin as long as I know I’m getting Quality products with the professional installation.

Nothing worse than doing the same thing twice... p*sses me off. Like my old man says - if you're going to do something do it properly otherwise don't do it at all.

I think it would be worse to pay for someone to do something, then have to pay them again to do the same job they stuffed up....

Having worked in a tyre store where we did alignments, suspension work etc, I would much rather learn about something and fix it myself than pay for someone else to do it, although it sucks if you don't have a shed to work in.
