Default head gaskets

hi all well i'm about to put all the motor back together and just wanted to check with you guys first on what to do. i'm not sure if this is a stupid question or not and i have asked many ppl and they don't know, but with the head gasket it has one whole punched through the each water jacket? do you just leave it like this or cut out the whole water jackets? and i have heard the au head gasket gives a litlle more compression compared to the eb head gasket. is this true? thanks

use the au gasket m8, 100% improvement.. and you dont cut the galleries out, just leave the hole in the middle

Yep, AU gasket is slightly thinner, but more importantly, virtually fixes the problem E-Series I6's had with head gaskets. Best to leave the jackets blocked on the head gasket, I'm not too sure on why they're blocked either, but there must be a reason behind it....

They are blocked in order to dispurse water flow evenly throughout the head.
