Default Replacement Central Locking Remote (au1)

Has anyone had to replace one before ?

What do they cost ?

Can I just buy them over the counter at Ford no probs ?

I did a quick search and found info on the forums about how to synch them with your car but not about actually getting one.

I got one from a Spare Parts for Sale section of the site. Check ebay for pricing but from memory my AUII (not compatible with AUI mind you) was about $35 which i think was about $10 cheaper than ebay

Syncing them is no issue whatsoever just as long as its an AUI remote.

Don't know about Ford's pricing on em - didn't even bother checking.

Here's a few on ebay. Check out the price at Ford to get an idea on potential savings!

Hope that helps.

But will the old one still work ?

I have one now, but I want a second. If i follow the instructions to reprogram the new one, does the old one still work without any issues ?(or will that then need to be reprogrammed at the same time???)

You do the both together, otherwise you'll end up with the new one working and the old one wont. The owner's manual has it all outlined on p64-65

In case you don't have one, here is the procedure.

To train Keypads

Switch the ignition from the off (0) to accessory (I) position.

Press the rear window demister button 3 times within 5 seconds. the door locks will cycle to indicate that the system is in learn mode.

Press the "DOORS" button on each of the keypads in turn. Turn the ignition OFF. The door locks will cycle to indicate that the keypad(s) is/are trained.

Easy as that really. Will take about 1 minute to do.

All the best with it.
