Default EL Twin sytem? Is it possible?

Been pricing up exhaust system's for my EL xr8, the local profix owner who is a big blue oval enthusiast said that twin system's were not possible on this model because of the petrol tank loctation, I took his word for it but since then have heard of it beeing done, whats the verdict? does anyone know if it is possible and if so how you go about it?

it depends completely on what your idea of a twin system is.
a twin system 2 individual exhausts from each set of exhaust manifolds, generally with a cross over pipe.
as mentioned earlier, a twin system as mentioned above is possible.

If you're under the impression that a twin system is exits on either side of the car, then yes, the fuel tank makes this tricky.

You can have a twin system but the pipe have to exit on the drivers side of the car cause if you run the pipe under the fuel tank it will heat the fuel which isnt a good idea.

I've got a twin 2.25" system on my car. Basically the same system as what EFFalcon outlined above.

I have twin 2.5" all the way. Seperate pipes and no cross over. Having a little trouble with the diff centre hitting the left hand bank on sharp bumps though.

What did they do with the fuel tank on the Predator concept? It had twin exhausts (1 on each side). Looked sweet as.

Pretty sure the Predator did have a fuel tank, ive looked underneath it and from memory the second pipe crosses over horizontally right behind the bumper

Bet yer that was worth a pretty penny, or two, as for the predator if one crosses horizontally right behind the bumper, wouldnt you get uneven sound at the exhaust?

You sure do. My mates VH crapadore bends around the back of the tank. Sounds like a speedboat with the exhausts under water. Very un-even..

The Predator doesn't have a fuel tank, it's LPG only. It uses a big muffler with one inlet and 2 outlets, one on each side. There's been pics of the rear end setup posted on these forums. It's impossible to run an exhaust pipe between the rear bumper and the fuel tank of an EF/EL, there's less than 2 inches of space there.

Does he still have much ground clearance?
