Lightbulb 300C June Sales..

300C sold 203 or 35.1% of the sector.
Statesman sold 184 or 31.8% of the sector.
Fairlane sold 157 or 27.1% of the sector.
Caprice sold 27 or 4.7% of the sector.

Fairlane isn't too far behind Stato, FORD just needs to "unFalcon " it.

The 300C is doing so well cause its something different. I wonder how long it will take for the novelty to wear off and for sales to start dropping.

I think the 300c will become the ugly car of future posts. Not keen on them myself.

The 300Cs arent too bad, but my biggest concern with them is Build quality and future resale, if you look at any Crysler / Jeeps previously bought in to australia like the Neon, PT Cruiser and all the Jeeps they are pretty dodgy cars after a while, not to mention the fact that they are absolutely WORTHLESS!

Fairlane isn't too far behind Stato, FORD just needs to "unFalcon " it.
If you combine the Stato & Caprice it puts the GM LWB on top - even if you take into consideration a couple of LTD's to add on the Fairlane.

They wont be "unfalconing" it....

Apparently it is confirmed that Fairlane (or LTD) will no longer be sold in 18 mths time. This came from a Ford Australia contact. Due to low numbers overall they have decided to scrap it.

I pulled into a Chrysler dealer last week to try & get a test drive of a 300C diesel.

They didn't have a demo available, but said they sold 3 last week.

3 diesel 330C's sold in one week by one suburban dealer - dunno if he was having me on.

There is a pic of the Touring Wagon taken on a cruise the weekend before last in the gallery HERE

Fairlane & LTD had combined sales of 162 (157+5)
Statesman & Caprice had combined sales of 206 (179+27)
300C managed 184.

The next two shipments of SRT8's (albeit only 70 odd vehicles) are all sold.
Resale will be anybody's guess.
Build quality of the Austrian built 300's we get here looks solid and I've seen very few issues amongst the Australian owners so far - I've had none but a couple have had paint issues.

Cheers
Russ

Not quite true....the PT cruiser actually have excellent resale. I was going to buy one when I got the AU Fairmont wagon for the wife about 18months ago.

Wish I did, used PT's I was looking at have gone from $28k to bout $25k....the AU has gone from $21k to about $10k ouch!!!

I have driven the touring model when in the US for work a few times, it was the AWD hemi R/T model and was great.....my only gripe was the dash quality.... the rest of the car BRILLIANT. If the AU was worth more than 2 flat rocks I would trade it on the CRD touring tomorrow

As a Chrysler salesman, I can tell you that the 300C is selling quite well, and the build quality is far better than you'd expect. I was pleasantly shocked when I took one for a drive, it actually handles.. I think thats a first for an American car. :hihi:
