I degreased the EB motor on the weekend, then hosed it all down, wetting electrics, etc.. now motor won't start.
I took the distributor cap off, blew in compressed air and WD40 - but this made no difference. Still won't start. I suspect that I have fried the coil. I removed the coil and tested it with a multimeter. The low tension terminals have a resistance of 0.7 ohm. The manual says 0.41 to 0.45 ohms. Could this be my problem ? What does my high reading mean ? The high tension/negative terminal test gives a reading of 7160 ohms. The manual says it needs to be 7120 to 7870 ohms... so mine seems to be within specs. Would the coil need replacing, or should I start looking elsewhere ? |
