Some of you may know ive been interested in selling my EF and upgrading for a fair while now, well today i took the first real step towards doing exactly that and it's now likely the EF will be gone within the next 2 weeks.
Its being traded on an 02 Focus which IMHO is a very nice car. Having less of an engine to feed will certainly help now that ive taken a pay cut (temporarily) to start my new job. So without wanting to sound too soppy, i just want to say a very big thankyou to all you guys - this place is an invaluable resource and has taught me a hell of a lot about cars, obviously Falcons in particular. I've done a lot of modifications that really improved the car overall and i have the E-Series club and FF to thank for that, so thanks for the help, the knowledge and advice. I might post up some final pics of the EF later on, when i get the chance to take some good ones. Obviously I'll still be on FFAU, just not posting in here as much. Cheers, and goodbye E-Series! :

Peuty,
the tradein figure was very generous given that the car is 10yrs old and has over 200,000kms on it. The fact i also know the sales team and used to work at the dealership im buying through also helped a fair bit! I've still got some bits and pieces lying around, so if anyone wants some steelies, hubcaps and 2x brand new tyres, let me know.

Fair enough then. As long as the price they gave you made you happy, which obviously it did.

Good to hear mate, the focus' are a really nice car and i'm sure you wont have as many problems as with the ageing EF.
You'll be back in a falcon soon enough i'm sure, lol.

I love the suspension and sturdiness in these cars, there are a very stable car to drive. |

Heheh, yes the trade in figure was a very, very good price, even more than what i would hgave been able to get for it if i sold it privately, so it wasnt a very hard decision to make.
The model i got is an Ink Blue CL Auto with the optional safety pack - so ABS, Passenger bag and disc brakes all round, which is what i was after. Very much a needle in a haystack, so i didnt sit on it too long before i made the decision. Has 34,000kms on it and it is in very good condition, been babied all its life. Its got 15's on it atm but they will be coming off before i pick it up, and being replaced with the 17's you commonly see on the Zetecs etc. Olympus you are spot on, i gave it a real workout yesterday and just had it turning a hell of a lot, but it felt so stable and like it wasnt phased by it at all. A little bit of road noise but im sure thats due to what tyres are on it atm, and i said, they will be coming off. I wasnt expecting much from it as it was only a CL model, but i came out of it very impressed, so much so i rang them back first thing this morning and told them i will take it. Probably have it in about 2 weeks. No name change, i like my name as it is!

the focus' are top little cars, the only issues ive experienced with them is the reverse indicator-wiper switches, heh, but without going backwards and forwards between a focus and a falcon (or most other, non-european cars for that matter) you'd get used to it pretty quickly. nice pick up!

I drove the focus we have at work the other day (new job woot) and it seemed to be pretty nice to drive... felt small, but at least I could still see out of it (not like the bloody barina-van combo shitter i drove on wednesday) and had decent power too...
