I'll back you Sonnett. Mark 1 and 2 Escorts (and MK 1 & 2 Cortinas for that matter) were assembled at Homebush in Sydney from CKD packs, allied with considerable local content and ingenuity, such as managing to shoehorn the 2 litre Pinto engine into the local Mk2 Escorts. Granted they weren't manufactured from scratch in Australia like the Falcons at Broadmeadows, but neither were all Escorts imported into Australia as fully built units.

At Homebush assembly, you can add also the 1965-1968 Galaxies. And the 200 odd Mustangs that were imported during 1965-66 and factory converted to RHD.

Lasers followed the Escorts from 1981, until the plant closed in 1995.

The Homebush fellas had an impeccable industrial relations record, with hardly any days lost to internal industrial action during the plant's 57 year life.
