That really sucks mate, I hope it works out for you. Just shows how things can go bad in such a split second like that. At least (I hope) you didn't get hurt. Good luck.

Ouch. Just fix what you need to so that you can drive it, and when money becomes less tight, fix the panels etc properly. Keeping it looking a bit banged up will also serve as a long term reminder of what stupidity on the roads can do - lucky you weren't in a commodore with 4 mates.

thats bad to hear mate but like the advice i got when i hit my car is "if you dont hit something going sideways, your not going sideways enough" so now you will learn the hard way, do what i do, go to some wide streets( campellfield truck city is a good one) and start taking it side ways, if you loose it you wont go up no gutter!

well then you join a car club, attend their track days and do a defensive and advanced driver course. you don't do it on the streets, as it is illegal and **** happens.

My 2c
If you want to get a car sideways, don't do it in a falcon. I had a toyota corolla RWD. I could drift that in the wet very well. After almost 30,000ks in that car over almost 3 years, i got to know it's potential very well. I have had my falcon for about 4 months/4000ks. I don't know how to drift it. I'm not even going to try cos it is just too large and powerful. All I can say is... at least you didn't hit another car. That would be really expensive.

done almost the same thing the other day, it was wet, coming of traffic lights around a corner, got it sideways and put too much opposite lock on, sideways the other way, same thing, ended up doing like 4 80-90 degree fishies then a 180 to finish off. I thought I was gonna jump the island and hit a parked xr6.
People can right me off all they like for my actions, I deserve it. It taught me a very valuable lesson about not only my driving but my car, drifting a falcon in the wet on a public road is not cool, I'm just lucky I didn't kill someone : Falcons are just too heavy, an dtend to snap back in very violently, which in the wet send you sideways the other way, they're OK in the dry, but I'm still not game to do it, I don't wanna kill myself or anyone else. Worse part about it was my mates were behind me and saw the whole thing. Hope you get it all fixed up soon man, looks like a nice car.

Problem is learning to drive within your own limits. Too tempting not to slow down in the wet and explore the extra hoon capability of the falcon in the wet I'll bet. As long as no one got hurt its a good lesson for all. |

I suggest going to a skid pan for all those saying doing it on the street is cool. Massive amount of area, nothing to hit, and no cops, plus you get photos taken, vids, and people can tell you what you are doing wrong, The street is not a racetrack, even when noone is around. I hope you get your car fixed soon, and make sure you post up more pics for us.

ur a bad driver, sif speed or try to get sideways in the wet, the oil comes up from the road and makes it very dangerous to speed. u should be off the road for good, ull end up killing ppl soon.
