Default what would you pay for an EA?

what would you pay for an EA S with 140,000k's 3.9MPI, 5spd man, completly stock, no rego, has a RWC and is in very good conditition.
iv had my eye on one for a while now and it doesnt even have a mark on it, paint is in extremly good condition as well as the interior. i would've bought it by now but iv just completed Yr12 and worked a part time job and also didnt save any money, so thats the only reason iv had my eye on it for a while rather than not buying it.

It's an EA, The seller should be paying you to take it off his hands:P

But nah seriously it seems like its in pretty good condition and low km's + it has rwc id pay about 2.5 - 4 k for one like that

i paid $2300 for an eb wagon with 246,000 on the clock a few months back with RWC and 3 month rego

yeh, i think that once they get to a certain age like 18yrs, the conditition of the car shouldnt account for much, unless they are a classic.

$5K with no rego, the parts are not even worth $5K, its an EA worth about $2,500 at most, for $5K you could buy an EBII/ED ghia with a bit of looking.

140,000K on it big deal, buy one for $1k with 350,000 and rebuild the motor/gearbox for cheaper, and put a better interior in.

$400 - $1000

RWC is only useful (where there's no rego) if it's still in it's valid period, which in Vic is 30 days i believe. After that it needs to be re-issued. EA's aren't worth anything, unless they're Brock's, and even then not worth that much. $4999 is a ludicrous joke for that s pack.

why not, its not a big deal to have a motor rebuilt, I dont mean some monster of a motor with a huge cam, 12:1 compression and needing to be feed the highest quality premium fuel that can be found.
Even as a stock rebuild will give you many years of trouble free motoring.

Pfft the only EA's worth more than $2000 are ones with parts that are worth more than $2000...Like my AIT :P

I bought my EA as I thought it was a reasonable price for the parts within.

i'd pay 2k for a clean EA with a RWC no worries, not 5 though. Also an EA S 5 speed would be faster than most any EB/ED Ghia, well acually pretty much faster than any stock E-Series besides the GT's some XR's and maybe Sprints, providing it's in good running order.

i could tell you now they would have given the prvious owner 500-800 trade in on it, so they can't expect too much, go in there with a $2000 wad of cash and flash it in front of the salesman.

the clowns spent 2k on it though fixing a few problems. the have offered me 3k, still to expensive though. i know they wanna get rid of it cause they have had it too long, but they cant bring them selfs to selling it for non profit. it will still be there in 5 years time and that nice clean EA will be a rust bucket, if they dont come around to 2k. im getting to the point where im about to walk in there, show em the facts and slap em across the face.

$1000 max....EA's=one of the worst falcons built.....no point spending $2000 + because you will need the money to do it up a bit...I thought I received the deal of a lifetime when i got my EB II the day before my 19th for $810...191065 kms 3mnths rego, dedicated LPG....i assumed the most i'd have to spend on it would be $2000...wasn't to be...i've spent $6000ish on servicing, fuel, repairs, rego since then....just cause it comes with rwc doesn't mean it's worth the buy....always be prepared for the worst and make sure you have 5 grand saved up in case of disaster....I was only lucky i had that much in savings while I was @ uni the year before because my mum would NEVER have lent me a cent :(...if you haven't got $5000+ be patient and wait another year i say

LOL !!!

the reason you've spent near on 6k on repairs is because you bought an $800 car
what did you honestly expect? it to be in mint condition??

I paid $5,000 for an EA as my first car!

Except that was in 2001!
