Default The first official E-Series "Strip-an-EA" day - Sun 19/11/2006

Come one, come all to the inaugural E-Series "Strip-an-EA" day! Tomorrow, sunday 18th november.

As many of you have heard, the LTD got defected on the one rare occasion that I actually take it out on a cruise. My first VSS cruise no less, which I won't be attending with the LTD anymore! But anyway, it needs some work to get it roadworthy again, and I needed some parts. All up the parts needed would cost a few hundred dollars, then a guy at work was selling an EA with a cracked head for $100. Not in the best shape, but it'll serve its purpose.

The plan now is to strip the car down to a shell, keep the parts I need and sell that which I don't. I don't have long to do it, as we need the room.

So, I call upon those who are willing to come and help me strip this EA down to a shell in one day, namely, tomorrow. I'll be putting on a BBQ, and if anyone is interested in any parts off it, can have them cheap if they come to help. Probably most notable is the recently rebuilt 4 spd auto which was rebuilt by an extremely experienced mechanic that I happen to work with, and also everything needed for an MPFI conversion. So put your name down if you wanna come help or if you wanna just come and watch and spend some time with the e-series guys.

PM me if you wanna come and I'll give you my address and contact details.

We'll probably get started around 10:30-11am, then a BBQ lunch.

I was there at about 12.30 to 1.00 and helped as much as I could. I did a lot of the interior, and plastic trims. The lunch truly was a feast. We did well today, particularily to stop the engine/trans from rolling down the driveway and across the street into Dan's Maverick. Also thanks to John_XR6 for sorting out most of my electrical issues.

Cheers guys for all your help, and thanks to those who just came and watched, great to have the company, makes a day's work that much more pleasant! Not much left of it, still gotta pull out the steering rack (the main thing I bought the car for lol) and all the brakes and stuff, and just a few other little bits and pieces.

Oh and Scott, you left your jack and jack stands here and your tube spanners as well, I'll try and get them up to you in a couple of days, thanks again mate! And also a big thanks to Dan who brought his engine crane, and also Dezza, John x2, and all the rest of you as well. Glad you all enjoyed the lunch, the least I could do!

I'll get some pics up soon :P

Alex
