hello everyone i have had an idea and i just wanted to get your opinion before i potentially blow something up. i know it is a pritty stupid idea but i though it would be fun.
anyway i have a set of floor speakers consisting of a tweeter, mid-range and a sub. (see pics) i was thinking to wire one of these speaker boxes in my boot just to get a bit of bass till i can afford some real subs lol. now i dont have an amp so i was thinking just to unplug the rear speakers and plug the existing wire straight into the box. (i am going to only put the wire off one rear and let the other one hang so i can get a bit of power off the deck) i am only going to put 1 of these coz i cant fit both of them (gas tank) sorry about the long start. i know it is stupid so i dont have 2 be told again. pics - - - cheers matt

Just go without bass.. will make you appreciate it more when you get some.. Plus it helps you save quicker..
Cheers, Nik

Talk about bogan spec.... :P
If they're 8 ohm which most home speakers are, then they'll be fine off the headunit. The only difference is the headunit will put out half the power into an 8 ohm load. I'd say it will sound very ordinary....I vote just save for some car subs. |

15/20 watts rms into those speakers will sound like balls .. not to mention its 8ohms so it'll get even less power.
i bought my subs/amp the day after i got my licence .. was good. jus save .. if ur willing to use home speakers .. surely u woudln't need a high end system. |
