Default CPI vs MPFI

I know there is no comparision but does anyone have actual 1/4 mile times for the EA CPI 5 speed against EA MPFI 5 speed. Factory figures or magazine tests will do fine.

My CFI Auto ran 18.4 and ran 74.9rwkw on the dyno. After the MPFI Conversion it so far ran 109.0 on the dyno hoping to run it on the dyno in the next few weeks!

It was optional on the S. It came standard on Ghia and the LWBs but was optional on the rest of the range

I think manual CPIs would as quick (or slow) as an MPI Auto.

From the factory there wouldnt be anywhere near a 30rwkw difference, but after nearly 20 years, no average condition car will be running near what it did when it rolled off the production line.

There would be Auto CPis that run better than MPi manuals depending on condition.

So its not a clear cut measurable difference unless everything is running perfectly.

Workshop manuals and car booklets should be able to fill you in on the exact difference between the two as they came of the line!

As the FalconFacts site says;

EA CFi - 120kw
EA MPFi - 139kw

AFAIK, heads, exhausts, exhaust manifolds, camshafts are all the same between CFi's and MPFi's.
