Hey,
Just wanted to know what is the fastest stock N/A XR6 model, from the e-series through to the BF are...like what times and stuff. Would it be the EB, ED, EF, EL , AU, BA or BF? It'd be good to hear, say from the fastest and which is the slowest. Be interesting to find out as most you guys are avid ford followers. : Thanks.

Stock standard times rate the BF quickest, and the EB slowest, with the rest pretty much in new to old order. Of course, manuals will be quicker than the 4 speed autos, but the BF 6 speed auto still leads the pack.

How fast are the BF's 0-100 and 1/4?
Ive heard that the EF/EL XR6's can go as fast as mid to low 15's stock...thats the manuals...

it would be good to see the Motor magazine 1/4 mile times for each E series XR6's , that would give a very good idea.
Eb and Ed xr share the same motor (or should i say the Ed uses the EB motor ;) ) and are very close in weight so id say there would be fleas d.ck between them.. Ef and El have different ignition . ie ef had coil packs and El had dizzy.. So there could be a bit more of a difference there... Au had Vct and non vct... with the vct being more powerfull so therefore quicker? (if anyone can prove otherwise please do.!) Ba-Bf no one cares.... :togo:

I'd agree with Racecraft, as the EF/EL put on bit of kerb weight (1515k versus 1451kg) whilst gaining a mere 3 kW of power. The manual/MPI EA is up there in performance terms, but wears no XR6 badge so isn't relevant here.
As for AU, I don't believe there's any significant performance difference between HP or VCT... what the VCT gains in power, it loses in the weight of its IRS system. |
