He he, I didn't even know it was there for the first year of ownership until my little brother showed me the first time he drove the car!

Its a good feature but kind of useless if you get your music up a little bit, you can't hear the beep. You have to look for the flashing (S) in your readout, its quicker to read the speedo!
I dunno if its just mine or all AU's but the beep seems to be very quiet and not heaps noticeable with a window or two down and/or music on.

The beep is a bit on the quite side on the AU compare to my brothers one on his old EF.

Is this a standard feature on all AU models or just XRs, Fairmonts, etc. ?

I believe its all models, since mine is only a Forte, however it is a series 2 so not sure if it was on series 1 Forte's.

My dad's '99 Forté dosen't Have it, My 2001 Series II Forté has it, so i'm guessing it's from series II onwards... Don't know about fairmonts or XR's though, Maybe they had it from the start?

Fairmonts have them as part of their Climate Control.

Oh thats stupid, typical series 1 forte misses out on everthing!
I wish mine was series 2/3 so i can get the better looking interior and twin piston brakes.
