Ive heard of Magnatec doing some very nasty things to engines - because it supposedly is meant to suck all the little bits of loose metal out of your engine, it can end up clogging things up cos it pulls them thru the filters etc etc.
I wouldnt use it - i used to used GTX3 in the EF and I never had a problem with it. I know some didnt recommend it either but I found it to be quite good, oil consumption was up a little towards the end but that would be more likely because i got slack with the changes.

Whoever services my dads AUII puts that crap in it. It's as thin as water, actually it probably is water with dye added then a $30- price tag thrown on it. My EB gets Shell Helix in it when it's serviced and if I need to top the oil up I usually add some Valvoline that I have for the Esky.

There is a lot of false information about Magnatec like it causes blockages due to carrying metal around the engine etc. The basic fact is that the oil is not MAGNETIC, it just resists draining back tot he sump as quickly so some of the oil stays on the engien components longer to protect in startup. I have had good success with it in the older XF 4.1L, but it is a bit thin for the Falcon 4L I6 and thats where the problems come from. As said Penrite HPR30 is great stuff and what I would recommend in the falcon.
